Yes, despite the fact there are a few more tourists, June is also one of my very favorite months to be in France. Though to be honest, I love Fall as well. September is gorgeous.

June is a great time to be in France. We've been there twice in June - Loire Valley and Corsica. We were in the Loire during the summer solstice and really enjoyed all the music during La Fête de la Musique - Free music throughout France on one of the longest nights of the year. It can be a little noisy but high energy with all the great musicians.

Thanks for pointing out the Vinexpo is just for trade professionals.

Comprehensive stuff and I agree, June is a great month to travel in France.

The vineyards looks lovely with plenty of foliage - you can spot the organic vineyards because they are the ones that have poppies or other flowers allowed to flourish in-between the vine rows. The vignerons are very busy tending the vines in June to control the growth aiming for better quality, but they will still take time to welcome you in to visit and taste the wines.

The Vinexpo event (this year 21-25 June) is very strictly for trade and professionals only and showcases wines from around the world. In fact, I suggest you avoid Bordeaux at that time, because hotels are all booked up or extremely expensive and the roads are packed, it's a huge event.

Instead, June is a lovely month to visit the under-rated southern France vineyard areas of Languedoc-Roussillon or Provence as both can get very busy in July/August.
