A structure that Parisians once thought of as unsightly and wanted taken down has now become the iconic symbol most associated not only with Paris, but all of France. When most people think of Paris, they think first of Le Tour Eiffel punctuating the Paris skyline. If you are planning a trip to Paris, and you just must find a hotel near the Eiffel Tour, here is a list of hotels you can chose from.
Luxury
One of Paris’ most legendary hotels, the Plaza Athenee is situation just steps from the famous Champs Elysees and is close to the iconic Eiffel Tower. For all the Sex and the City Fans out there, you may remember this hotel from the episodes when Carrie goes to Paris. It is from a balcony off a room at the Plaza Athenee that Carrie catches her first glimpse at the Eiffel Tower.
However, the Plaza Athenee has been a famous and celebrated luxury hotel since long before the days of Carrie Bradshaw. This elegant hotel with classic Parisian décor, international clientele and attention to service and detail is also sure to leave anyone with a big smile on your face (as long as your willing to cough up some serious cash to get it).
The Plaza Athenee is also known for its celebrated Chef Alain Ducasse who whips up his tasty creations in the restaurant. If you are like me and can’t afford to stay at the Plaza Athenee, drop in and splurge on a 20 € cocktail—not only will it be delicious and you’ll be well-attended to and given a delightful array of nuts and olives, but you’ll also have the opportunity to absorb just a little of that Parisian chic sitting in the lobby.
Mid-Range
Hotel Eiffel Seine

This renovated Art Nouveau boutique hotel is located in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower and steps from the Seine near the Pont Bir-Hakeim. A Parisian art deco lobby will welcome you at this small hotel with a multilingual staff, where you may also be relieved to find air-conditioning blowing in the hot summer months. When you aren’t munching on a fresh croissant and fruit at the free breakfast, you’ll be walking to nearby attractions. It’s small, clean and perfectly located for sightseeing and exploring.

This 3-star, 80 room hotel located close to the Invalids and Eiffel Tower and has balconied rooms with excellent views of the Eiffel Tower. Rooms not facing the famous tower face a tranquil courtyard. There is also air-conditioning at this hotel—which can be a welcome reprieve in hot summer months). As you nibble on your brioche at the free breakfast and examine your map of Paris, you’ll see that from your hotel you are located just a short walk to the Champs de Mars, Eiffel Tower, Musee d’Orsay, Pont Alexandre III, the Seine and the Grand Palais. When you imagine a romantic trip to Paris and sipping champagne on a balcony overlooking the sparkling Eiffel Tower, this not the hotel you see yourself staying in. That being said, it ain’t so bad either. This 2-star, 55 room hotel has small rooms, but big windows and lots of light. It’s located just 3 Km from the Eiffel Tower and is just la porte à côté to the grandeur of the Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe. It’s also got a great location close to the Eiffel Tower and the low room rates are hard to best.

Hotel Metropolitan

Located just a short jaunt to the Champs Elysees and close to the Eiffel Tower, this 16em hotel sits in a great location as a jumping off point for your Paris sightseeing. If you’ve never been to Paris before—this is not a bad spot to get your bearings and see Paris’ sights. The hotel is houses in a converted 19th century private home between Rue Longchamp and Rue des Belles Feuilles. The rooms are on the small side, but are comfortable. It also offers a lot of perks (mostly location) at an affordable price.
Hotel Saint Dominique

This two-star hotel is located between the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, this hotel is situated super close to the Champs de Mars and Pont Alexandre III. This hotel was concerted from an 18th century convent and now overlooks a pleasant flower-filled courtyard. It’s superb location makes up for what the rooms lack in size and/or charm. Since this hotel is also house in what was once an open room, some guests complain about it being a touch noisy, but for the low price and excellent Paris location, this place is still hard to beat.
Since I am usually on the *ahem frugal side when traveling, I’d also recommend checking out the following budget hotels near the Eiffel Tower (some rooms might kinda have a view)

Splendid Hotel Tour Eiffel
This 2-star 8th arrondissment hotel is located at the corner of two wide Haussman style, tree-lined boulevards very close to the Eiffel Tour, Invalides and Musee d’Orsay. The rooms may be small, but so are the prices, so it may be worth checking out.
Super Budget
Aloha Hostel

If you are shoe-stringing your way across Europe and going the hostel route, there is a hostel in Paris that claims to have a view of the Eiffel Tower. While you may not be able to spot Le Tour Eiffel from your top bunk, you very well might have a great view just outside of the hostel. While this hostel has gotten a mixed bag of reviews, it does offer a free breakfast and it’s location within steps of the Eiffel Tower and many other major Paris attractions may make up for its other downfalls.
