Hotels with a View of the Eiffel Tower

Did you know that Parisians once thought the Eiffel Tower was unsightly and wanted taken down? The writer Guy de Maupassant famously said that he ate lunch every day in le Tour Eiffel, as it was the only place in Paris from which it could not be seen. It has since become an iconic symbol associated not only with Paris, but all of France – and nothing will prepare you for that first breath-taking glimpse, so why not have it be where there’s a bed nearby for proper swooning? If you’re planning a trip to Paris it’s not a bad idea to find a hotel near the Eiffel Tower; so without further ado, here is a list of hotels you can chose from – no matter your travel budget.

Luxury

Hôtel Plaza Athénée
One of Paris’ most legendary hotels, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée is just steps from the famous Champs-Elysées and close to the iconic Eiffel Tower. For all the Sex and the City fans out there, you may remember it is from a balcony of her room at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée that Carrie first sees the Eiffel Tower.
However, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée has been a famous luxury hotel since long before the days of Carrie Bradshaw. This elegant hotel with classic Parisian décor, international clientele and attention to service and detail is sure to impress. It is also known for its celebrated Chef Alain Ducasse, whose eponymous restaurant brings foodies from the four corners of the world.
If you can’t afford to stay at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée – and really, few of us can – drop in and splurge on a €20 cocktail; you’ll be treated like a celebrity and  you’ll also have the opportunity to absorb just a little bit of Parisian chic.
